General Website Info

Welcome to the Sunrise Instructors website: www.sunriseinstructors.com.

As you can see from the top row of links, there are a few different spots to check out. This "News" link will have all of the new info and things to know, so check it out often. The "Events" link will list out some important-to-remember events, which should also be listed on the "Calendar" area. I will explain more about the "Calendar" and the "Forum" ahead. The "Contacts" link has a master list of emails which was taken from the old site word for word, so if you want to be changed/added/removed contact me (webmaster@sunriseinstructors.com). Also, there is a "Links" area with some important links that I took off the old site as well.

Now for the "Calendar" area: I have created an interactive Google Calendar that can be modified by anyone who gains access (I explain the process of joining and getting access on the "Calendar" page, so click it above to see more info). Each person can add and modify events through their Google Account, including anything from when you are heading up and leaving Sunrise to arrange a carpool to any mountain events you would like to add. If you are just wanting to view the events that already exist on the calendar, you can just click the "Calendar" link above to see the whole month to month view with some interactive controls. "Forum": I have also created a Google Group especially for the Sunrise Instructors. Anyone can post to and access this forum even without officially joining it. However, I recommend joining it as this helps keeps things organized, such as if we wanted to send an important posting to all of the group members by email. There are two ways to post to the forum: 1. Create a Google Account (very simple, fast, and free, just click the "Forum" link above and follow the steps. They do not ask any personal information beyond your name. You can use an existing email account with a different provider, such as hotmail, as your google login name for simplicity as well). Then you can post new topics and reply to and view any existing posts. 2. Or, send an email with your desired post to sunriseinstructors@googlegroups.com and your message will post directly to the board as a new topic. To continue replying and commenting on the same topic, you must create a google account. In other words, sending an email starts a new topic every time and does not reply to existing topics. To view responses by others to your post and all posts, you must actually visit the forum as you will not receive email responses by default. It may sound difficult, but it is simple and just takes a little looking around to get the hang of things. This site is not affiliated with Ski School Management. This is our Instructors site, and I will make updates when I hear about them from other instructors, etc. So if you know of something that should be updated, changed, removed, or added to the site, please contact me (webmaster@sunriseinstructors.com). Don't forget you can also add events to the calendar and forum yourselves, so feel free. Also, contact me with any and all suggestions you have to make this site better. You will not hurt my feelings, so don't worry.
